House Of Hats

Influences: Fleetwood Mac and Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young

Profile: Formed in 2011 at the Brighton Institute Of Modern Music, DIY quartet House Of Hats have a musical pedigree which encompasses recording with Squeeze and Sting producer Pete Smith, and supporting the likes of The Police and The Script.

The acoustic folk-influenced band have launched their own night, The Harvest Sessions, as The Brunswick, which have become a monthly residency.

This year has also seen them play the Meadowlands Festival and Cambridge Folk Festival where they were spotted by BBC Radio 2's Zoe Ball.

This week's Download comes from their self-titled debut EP which was released in December through iTunes.

The band's second EP Rivers Will Run, which was recorded with Kate Walsh producer Tim Bidwell, was released on iTunes earlier this month.

Next Gig: House Of Hats launch their new EP at The Harvest Sessions at The Brunswick, in Holland Road, Hove, on Saturday, October 6, with support from Indigo Earth and Autumn Red. Doors open 7.30pm, tickets cost £6/£5.
