The Argus: Jeni Saint

Jeni Saint

From: Worthing

Profile: A classically trained pianist and cellist, Jeni Saint started composing tunes in her teens, and scored her first success at the age of 15, which she was invited to Pebble Mill after winning the BBC's Song For Christmas competition. She joined a pantheon of previous winners, which included Gary Barlow, who coincidently was on the show that same day with his new band Take That.

Following a music degree at Oxford University, Jeni began playing on London's acoustic circuit, and doing session work as a cellist - appearing on Robbie Williams's Rock DJ and Mutya Buena's Real Girl.

Since 2003 she has worked as a TV plugger for Atlantic Records, helping launch the careers of James Blunt, Sean Paul, Mark Ronson and Paolo Nutini, but has now decided to come home to concentrate on her music.

Her latest EP Life On A Wire was digitally released on Monday 16 November and is currently available on iTunes. It will be followed by an album early next year.
