Jennifer Left
Influences: Faust, The Kinks, Ane Brun and Emiliana Torrini. Profile:When former Download stars Gloria Cycles split after six years together, bassist Jennifer Dalby was best known for her occasional stints at the mic singing backing vocals to If I Wanted To Tell You. Now she has headed out on her own, under the monicker Jennifer Left, with her debut single Black Dog already attracting airplay on BBC 6Music. The forthcoming album has been put together by producer Tim Bidwell, who has previously worked with city favourites Kate Walsh, Fink and Peggy Sue, and Ewan Wallace who can be found backing Bonobo. She has already played support to Turin Brakes at St Bartholomew's Church, headlined the first Source New Music night at the Pavilion Theatre, and received a boost from one of her heroes Sarah Blasko at one of her early gigs. Last week she appeared at the Ferne Cotton-curated breast cancer charity event CoppaFeel! Festifeel alongside The View, Norman Jay, Newton Faulkner, Slow Club and Jamie N Commons.
