Monsters Build Mean Robots

From: Brighton

Profile: Formed in 2006, the Brighton four-piece are preparing to release their second album on DIY label Nice Weather For Airstrikes.

The first taste of the new album was the single Psalm 57 (or) All That Gold Did Not Help Your Soul! which was released at the beginning of February. The new collection has been described as a band-centred concept album, based largely on their live set, which sees them step away from their electronic roots and focus on more song-based structures with heavy lyrical themes. Their self-titled post-rock- influenced debut album was unleashed in October 2007, and picked up plaudits from Stuart Maconie and Artrocker magazine. Since then the band has been touring the UK and evolving their sound – adding live drums, bass, cello and violin to their looped guitar parts.
