Moya
Profile:Earlier this month 21-year-old singer-songwriter Moya released her debut album Lost And Found – the culmination of a musical career which began in her sisters’ band Trance as a pre-schooler. The soul-pop release on Four To One Records features 12 tracks all co-written by Moya, including the title track, which came out last month, and last year’s debut single Telling Tales. “The songs are quite diverse but somehow all fit together,” she says. “There’s some summer pop and soul, a few ballads and a few surprises – definitely a song for everyone.” Moya took her early inspiration from her mother’s collection of Motown, soul, jazz and disco, writing and performing music as a teenager, before moving to Brighton to focus on her musical career. Lost And Found was recorded at London’s Alaska Studios, where Moya made friends with Wiley – with hopes of a collaboration in the future.
