Nick Howard

From: New York via Brighton

Influences: Tea, The Beatles, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, The Script, Oasis and Coldplay.

Profile: Singer-songwriter Nick Howard moved from Brighton to New York six years ago to seek his fortune, and spent the next four years working in offices and restaurants while trying to squeeze in gigs at some of the Big Apple's most exclusive and hard-to-find music dives.

He managed to break through in 2009 with his debut album Something To Talk About. The single A Better Man featured on the US radio charts, earning him some live television appearances on NBC and Fox.

Since then he has supported the likes of Lifehouse, Boyce Avenue, Gavin DeGraw, Counting Crows and Jack Johnson on tour, and seen his music used on The Hills, Jersey Shore, Next, Cougar Town, 90210 and LA Ink.

This January he releases his follow-up album When The Lights Go Up, home to this week's download Days Like These which earned him as ASCAP songwriting award in the US.

The album was produced by Marshal Altman, who previously worked with Natasha Bedingfield, and Nashville's Deve Bechtel.
