The Argus: Physics House Band

Physics House Band

From: Brighton

Influences:Jaga Jazzist, Yes, The Mars Volta, Battles, Fusion, Ninja Tune and Warp Records.

Profile: This week ushers in some pretty big news for Physics House Band, as they have just been signed to the Pink Mist label Blood and Biscuits and this April they will embark on their first headline tour.

Sam Organ, Adam Hutchison and Dave Morgan came together in the summer of 2011 with a passion to “make music that has no shelf life or trend”.

This week’s download is their debut video single, Titan, which caused a few waves on its release in early 2012.

It led to them playing two nights at The Great Escape, supporting Mercury Music Prizewinners Alt-J at their album launch, and sharing stages with the likes of Mono, Three Trapped Tigers and Tall Ships.

They are about to release a 26-minute psychedelic excursion of an EP, featuring six tracks composed on analogue instruments including a Steinway grand piano, Mark III Fender Rhodes, B3 Hammond Organ and a selection of Moog synths.
