The Argus: Ragweed

Ragweed

From: Brighton via Totnes, Devon

Influences: Tool, Rage Against The Machine, Pixies, Tweak Bird, Big Black, Rise Against and Biffy Clyro

Profile: Energetic rock trio Ragweed started out under the name Adverse Camber in their home town of Totnes, based around guitarist and vocalist Tom Adamson and drummer Ben Stephen. Having released a four-song demo, the band, featuring Callum Fields on bass, got their first live break when they played a Florence And The Machine after party in Blackpool, followed by a handful of Devon-based gigs over the next five months. Tom and Ben decided to make the move to Brighton, with Callum heading off to Falmouth instead, meaning they were a bass player short. The position has just been filled permanently by Lawrence Hill, who they first met at the Pav Tav in North Street.
