The Argus: Ramona

Ramona

From: Brighton

Influences: The sounds of New York City including The Ramones, Blondie, The Strokes and Vivian Girls.

Profile: Next month sees Brighton-based four-piece Ramona release their debut 7in single How Long on Bullitt Records, following a string of festival shows at Wireless and T In The Park.

The band is based around singer Karen Anne with bassist James Watts, drummer Fred West and guitarist Charlie Snelling. They are currently working on a self-titled debut album, which is due for release in the new year.

According to Karen it contains: “All very short songs, a lot of energy. They’re all very catchy, there’s no moments you’re going to get too bored in there.” How Long, which was launched earlier this week with a show at The Prince Albert, in Trafalgar Street, is officially released on Monday, September 13.
