The Argus: Running Dogs

Running Dogs

From: Brighton

Influences: Oasis, Blur, Arctic Monkeys, Rolling Stones, David Bowie.

Profile: With support slots for Rizzle Kicks and Sham 69 already under their belt and an EP recorded with Martin 'Youth' Glover of The Verve's Urban Hymns fame, Running Dogs will be celebrating an impressive 2012 this weekend.

The four-piece all met at college in 2010, and were inspired to form a band after seeing one of Oasis's final performances at Spanish festival Benicassim.

Since then the band has got to the final of a competition to play the Hop Farm Festival, and sold out a 300-copy run of their debut vinyl single Turn Me/Rum Punch.

The band has recently posted a YouTube video of themselves covering Kylie Minogue's Two Hearts, which earned a tweet from the antipodean pop star herself saying "watched it... LOVED it...whoooooooOO!!".

It's going to be tough topping that.
