Profile: Psychedelic garage blues quintet The Sly-Tones formed around schoolfriends frontman Ashley Edwards and keyboard player Chip. The band mixes blues riffs and Edwards’s menacing voice with lyrics blending sex, drugs, politics and children’s songs. The band has been played on Juice FM and Tom Robinson’s BBC 6Music show, and has performed at the Pitt Ball Festival in Dorset and Lounge On The Farm Festival in Canterbury. Last month saw them release their debut EP which is available from gigs or through their MySpace site.
