Celebrating 50 Years Of Mod Culture: Brighton Centre, King's Road, Saturday, August 23
THE bank holiday clashes on Brighton beach between the Mods and the Rockers have been enshrined in popular culture thanks in part to The Who's classic album Quadrophenia and Franc Roddam's cult movie.
This Mod culture show marks the 50th anniversary of the rumbles, and features bands both from the 1960s and the late 1970s revival.
Bruce Foxton's From The Jam headlines a bill including Secret Affair, the original line-up of The Truth and The Chords UK featuring original member Chris Pope. DJ Nick Dunnaway will be spinning classic Mod tracks from the last half-century between the live acts.
Doors 7pm, tickets £25.50. Call 08448 471515.
