Celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and the Worthing Symphony Orchestra are among the special guests at the second Adur And Worthing Food And Drink Festival.

As The Steyne in Worthing hosts a giant marquee this weekend to house demonstrations, stalls and competitions, restaurants across the Adur area have put together special dining offers and discounts.

Among the Worthing restaurants offering special promotions include Giuseppes in Warwick Lane, Luna in Montague Place and The Fish Factory in Brighton Road, where two diners can eat for £20. The Wheatsheaf in Richmond Road has a two for £10 offer, The George And Dragon in High Street, Tarring, allows two to dine for £12, and Food in New Street has created a Sussex Diplomat menu for two offering three courses for £30.

And there are also special offers at the Rioja Wine And Tapas Bar in Marine Parade, The Swan Inn in High Street, The Three Fishes in Chapel Road, Grapes Ltd in Prospect Place, The Good Cookshop in Warwick Street, Green Cuisine and Cafe No 7 in Rowlands Road, Crescent Road Restaurant in Crescent Road, Candy Love in Montague Street, Kaffe Gogo in Steyne Gardens, Worthing and Shoreham Farmers’ Market, and Bosun’s Cafe in West Buildings.

    OPENING proceedings for the second food and drink festival is a black tie performance by Worthing Symphony Orchestra in an extension to their 2012/2013 programme. As well as live music, there will be a champagne reception and grazing platters available.
  • Giant Marquee Steyne Gardens, Saturday, July 6, and Sunday, July 7, 10am to 4pm, free
    PACKED with stalls offering local produce and food from across Europe, the marquee will host competitions including biscuit decorating for children and the Big Banana challenge – head down on the day to find out more. There will also be live food demonstrations by Worthing restaurants Giuseppes, Picasso, The Fish Factory and Crescent Road Cafe, and masterclasses from Northbrook College. Jean-Christophe Novelli is the special guest on Sunday at noon and 1.30pm, giving demonstrations and taking questions.

    ENJOY a vintage cream or high tea with a complimentary glass of prosecco or elderflower presse, accompanied by music from the 1920s to the 1940s.

    A THREE-COURSE charity dinner in aid of the BabyBuddy charity, which supports young people up to the age of 14 with learning disabilities and their families. The founders of the charity will be special guest speakers.

    THE attention switches to Shoreham for the second weekend of the festival for the Sussex Food And Drink Award-winning market.

    ALL things hot and spicy from curries to chilli ice cream will be on offer at the closing event for this year’s food festival.
