POPULAR vegetarian restaurant Terre à Terre has been developing its organic Sussex section on its wine menu.
The restaurant in East Street, Brighton, includes some new producers alongside longstanding organic die hards like Davenport Vineyards, run by Will Davenport.
New to the list, Oxney Beccanleah is a dry and subtle English regional white wine with a creamy texture and tasting of English orchard fruits with a crisp toasty finish.
The vineyard at Oxney
Organic Estate is at the extreme east side of East Sussex, in Beckley, six miles north of Rye.
The vineyard is part of the vision of founders Kristin Syltevik and Paul Dobson of modern farming that’s environmentally sound, natural and sustainable.
Long-standing organic producer Sedlescombe set the bar high with its First Release – the first certified biodynamic English wine which Terre à
Terre has listed over the past year.
It is described as a beautifully versatile, slightly off-dry wine “but with a wonderful freshness”.
Now there is an equally vibrant red addition made from the Regent vine, offering a vibrant ruby red colour and delicious red berry fruit, which the maker says is “an astonishing and truly promising red experience from English wines”.
