Pascere, the much-anticipated new restaurant from Amanda Menahem and chef Johnny Stanford, previewed on Monday night.

Guests were treated to a taste of what is to come from this exciting new restaurant, sampling award-winning sparkling wine from their extensive by-the-glass offering and canapés that demonstrated Stanford’s flair for classic and contemporary flavour combinations.

Guests included industry insiders from Brighton’s thriving food scene, including fellow chefs, restaurateurs and local suppliers.

Amanda said: “We are so thankful for the warm welcome we have received from Brighton’s industry experts and the public alike.

“For so long I have been a lover of the Brighton food scene and I have been overwhelmed by the support from the chefs and restaurateurs who joined us on Monday, all of who have been a source of joy and inspiration to me over the years.”

The launch party was hosted as part of Pascere’s soft launch which runs until tonight.

As well as allowing diners a first look at the beautiful new site, there is 50 per cent off food.

Feedback so far has been positive. Amanda said: “We’re delighted to see our guests not only noting Johnny’s flair in the kitchen but also commenting on Pascere’s welcoming ambience, relaxed vibe and attention to detail, something that has been central to my vision.”

Pascere’s official opening is Monday – the restaurant is in Duke Street, Brighton.
