As their second album Like A Hurricane is released via iTunes and Amazon, singer and guitarist Chris Howley introduces Brighton-based rock and roll band Pint Size Hero.

“We’re all originally from Eastbourne. A couple of us came to Brighton to study at the University Of Sussex and never looked back. Listening to our favourite bands and jamming ideas in the loft quickly transferred to renting a studio and writing our own jams. The early studio days can be heard in our first album Get Your Kicks which we released ourselves in 2011.

“We were recently compared with Band of Skulls by Classic Rock magazine, which is flattering as they are one of our favourite UK fuzz/rock bands. We’ve all grown up listening to the classics – the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix and the Doors but more recently we’ve drawn from the likes of Jack White and The Black Keys – anything with a good groove and a fuzz pedal gets us every time.

“Like A Hurricane is definitely more in your face. We’ve tried to make sure the first six tracks especially are punchy, energetic and everything just sounds big. I think we’ve got a lot closer to our perfect ideal of that older fuzzy classic rock sound in a tighter, straight-to-the-point set of songs; I can’t wait to hear people’s reactions!

“The biggest show we’ve played was the final date of our UK tour supporting Rival Sons – we played at a sold-out Camden Electric Ballroom. The crowd were amazing that night and to top it off Jimmy Page and Bob Harris turned up backstage – such an honour to meet them. A couple of the tracks on the new album definitely have a sound that’s made for bigger audiences so we’re buzzing to get out there and do them justice.”
