Jetglo introduce their two-and-a-half-year labour of love Big City Lights.

“We were all drawn to Brighton because of the concentration of creativity. There’s a cool alternative music scene on a smaller more accessible scale than London that you could really feel part of and get involved in. Originally Andrew James (guitar/vocals), Mark D. Evennett (bass) and Eddie Clifford (guitar) are from London, Anthony Bianco (drummer) is from Geneva in Switzerland.

“Our influences are mostly indie and rock guitar bands. The Smiths, Foo Fighters, The Cure, The Verve, Fleetwood Mac and REM. We sound like we do because we all work together when developing songs and being good friends aren’t afraid to make suggestions to each other and try ideas out.

“Our album Big City Lights took two-and-a-half years in between us all working. It was whenever we could get time free to record and mix - evenings, weekends, days off. We recorded the whole thing with Chris Daniels at Organised Rhyme Studios in Hove although we demoed a few songs first with Eric Woods and Dan Dice from Mono Studios.

“We went at the record a different way to how we play live. “We tried to incorporate the live energy/rock aspect of our shows but added different sound layers and melodies to make the record interesting in a different way.

“We love getting up on stage and putting loads of energy into a gig it’s what we all got into music for. Recording is enjoyable in a different way where you get to be even more creative and experimental with your sound.”
