Prog rock legends King Crimson will make a long-awaited return to Brighton in September.
Now in their eighth incarnation since they formed in the basement of a London cafe in January 1969, the trans-Atlantic band is still led by ace guitarist Robert Fripp.
This time around the emphasis is on the rhythm section, with previous drummers Gavin Harrison and Pat Mastelotto joined by REM’s touring sticksman Bill Rieflin for a triple assault.
The 2015 version of the band also features Peter Gabriel’s regular bassist Tony Levin, and saxophonist and flautist Mel Collins, who is returning to King Crimson after more than 40 years.
In the spotlight as guitarist and vocalist is solo artist and session player Jakko Jakszyk.
Tickets for the show at Brighton Dome Concert Hall, in Church Street, on Saturday, September 5, are being released at 9am tomorrow (Feb 6), starting at £39.50. Call 01273 709709.
