FORMER Newcastle College alumini Demob Happy first crossed The Argus’s radar in 2013 when a student party show allegedly caused the floor to give way to the flat below.
The band spoke to The Guide ahead of their homecoming show at The Haunt tonight about their DIY philosophy and plans for the future.
“It’s important to have full control over everything because otherwise what’s the point? If someone else is making your decisions, you can't ever call it your own.
“We come from Newcastle, but we live in your town, the big city, the big herb, Brighton. Our main influences are three wise old men by the name The Alan Thornberry Experience.
“We released the follow-up to our single Succubus a few weeks ago. It’s called Young And Numb. It’s so fast and super great you won’t even know it.
“Brighton is our end of the tour homecoming show. It’s gonna go OFF!
“In the future we want to have a shower and continue our exponential growth patterns. We can’t wait to support Fleetwood Mac on their UK dates!”
Demob Happy play The Haunt, in Pool Valley, Brighton, on Friday, April 24, from 7pm. Tickets cost £5 in advance. Support from Broken Hands and next week’s On The Radar stars Big Society.
