EARLIER this year Tom Jenkinson, aka Squarepusher, brought his new solo album Damogen Furies to the Dome as part of Brighton Festival 2015.
Now the electronic music maverick is changing tack again and has chosen Brighton to debut his new live band project resurrecting the name Shobaleader One.
The band was first unleashed in 2010 on Squarepusher’s album d’Demonstrator. Pictured sporting robot masks and hooded robes the band received a mixed response from the critics, with lots of comparisons to French electro dance outfit Daft Punk.
Now five years have elapsed and Jenkinson is exploring the project once more – developing new ideas and reinterpreting his 1995 to 1999 back catalogue for a band format.
