IRISH roots singer-songwriter Christy Moore is coming back to Brighton Dome next April.

Having celebrated his 70th birthday this year, the 2010 Meteor Music Award-winner released his 26th solo album Where I Come From in November 2013.

His 50-year career as a singer-songwriter began on the folk club scene of the 1960s and 1970s.

The last four decades have seen him work with the bands Planxty and Moving Hearts as well as producing his own solo work.

His lyrics have addressed political issues ranging from the Republican hunger strikers of the 1970s, to the occupation of Gaza.

With a new album planned for 2016 and news of a retrospective documentary being made by film-maker Mark McLoughlin he doesn’t look to be slowing down.

Tickets cost £34 for the show at Brighton Dome Concert Hall, on Saturday, April 2.

They go on sale tomorrow (Fri 30) from 10am – visit www.brightondome.org or call 01273 709709.
