TAKING on a new home, Classic Album Sundays marks the tenth anniversary of J Dilla’s final release, Donuts, unleashed three days before its creator’s untimely death from an uncurable blood disease at the age of 32.

In the ensuing decade the 31-track album, which will be introduced by James Meadows and Rod ‘Spin Doctor’ Gilmore, has become regarded as a classic. The majority of tracks were recorded while Dilla was in hospital using a sampler and 45 record player.

Lucy Spraggan

LIVING proof you don’t have to get in the top five of X Factor to establish a music career, Lucy Spraggan was the first contestant in the show’s history to score a top 40 single and album before the live shows even aired.
