Errors Errors

Glaswegian noise-funksters Errors’ take on post-punk electronics is nothing new, but with such dynamic and demonically infectious music it really doesn’t matter.

The quartet eschew vocals for intriguing sound-sweeps, as if human histrionics would reduce their artistic statement.

The music didn’t suffer from this, though, as shown on Bridge Or Cloud’s wide-eyed flourishes and Supertribe’s funky synth-stabs.

Frequently the band lured the audience in with rambling passages outlining abstract credentials before snapping back to reality with angular rhythms.

It is this contrast which defines Errors: a band with one eye on territory clearly marked “experimental” but also that can’t resist making music for the neck down.

Any communication from the band was made by the keyboardist Stephen Livingstone, who mumbled into the microphone on the group’s behalf, expressing in dry Glaswegian tones what a great evening they had had on the south-east coast.

By the time Pump’s glitchy pulse had cannoned off the walls, the ecstatic audience had witnessed a confident, tight set by a band whose star will only rise.
