Bexhill's most famous son is popping up in his old home town for two nights in January.
Eddie Izzard has just announced tickets are on sale for a new pairs of shows – containing strong and imaginative language - to support the seafront venue the De La Warr Pavilion, which celebrated its 80th birthday this month.
Izzard, who rose to fame in the mid-1990s on the back of his surreal hit shows Definite Article, Glorious and Dressed To Kill, has been a patron of the De La Warr since 2005, having worked in its cafe as a teenager.
In 2012 he performed a show entirely in French on the venue’s roof, and sponsored a memorable art installation by Richard Wilson, inspired by the closing scenes in The Italian Job.
More recently he has hit the national headlines as a supporter of the Labour Party, coming out to help Hove MP Peter Kyle in his bid for the city seat.
Tickets for the two shows, on Friday, January 15, and Saturday, January 16, at De La Warr Pavilion, in Marina, Bexhill, cost £25 and are available by calling 01424 229111 or visiting www.dlwp.com
Shows start at 8pm.
