Alice In Pantoland
Brighton Dome Studio Theatre, New Road, Wednesday, January 27, to Sunday, February 7, 5pm to 8pm, £20, 01273 709709
THE unexpected loss of Brighton Alternative Panto producer Brian Ralfe last year hasn’t meant the end of the city’s own homegrown take on the Christmas family favourite.
In fact there are set to be two adult pantomimes this year, with January’s Alice In Pantoland setting the standard Sinderfella will have to meet next month.
Eight shows are already sold out for this Vera production, which stars Dame Lee Tracey, Scott Virgo, Phil Harlequeen, Lascel Wood, Tiffany Wells, Jason Prince, Topsie Redfern, Russell Keith and Maisie Trollette.
Expect some near-the-knuckle innuendo, lashings of political incorrectness, and perhaps a touch of nostalgia for the alternative panto’s past in this new production.
