The Old Market spring season

THE Upper Market Street venue has just announced some of the big shows to look forward to in 2016, including a visit from a 1950s US detective and a celebration of International Women’s Day.

Le Navet Bete are paying tribute to comic book hero Dick Tracy on Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12.

And the same month sees a mini-season of Tuesday night double bills entitled Women’s Voices, mixing theatre, live music and sound art and featuring guests including songwriters Ellie Ford and Such Small Hands, and theatre pieces Echoes, Moon Tales and Three Generations Of Women.

Also on the bill in February is comedy from Simon Munnery on Friday, February 5, and Tony Law (pictured) on Wednesday, February 10, plus music from Gabby Young on Friday, February 19.

Future soul quartet Hiatus Kaiyote will pay a visit on Thursday, April 28, and there is a new interactive dance piece aimed at youngsters aged five and over called Digitopia on Thursday, April 7.
