Moon and the menses

3:04pm Tuesday 22nd April 2008

How far apart should periods come? And are they really governed by the moon, as my friend says? Mine are sometimes three weeks apart and sometimes five weeks.

Menstruation is nothing to do with the moon.

Most women's periods occur at 26 to 28-day intervals, measuring from start to start. Yours are clearly a bit irregular so I think you should have a check-up from a doctor to try and find out why.
