Gay daughter

I'm terribly worried about my daughter, aged 21, who has just declared herself to be a lesbian. Am I right in thinking this will expose her to all sorts of dreadful infections, including Aids?

No, you're wrong, ma'am. Lesbians are not at an increased risk of catching HIV, or any other sexually-transmitted infection. Like all sexually-active women, your daughter could pick up vaginal "bugs"

such as chlamydia. However, you really have no need at all to fear for her health.
