Water surprise

I want to get some excess hair removed from my face. However, I was surprised to be told that because I am on "water tablets" I should definitely not have laser treatment. Can you tell me why?

Well, I couldn't find any mention of this in my biggest medical books. But when I checked with American doctors who do laser hair removal, I found there's some truth in what you've been told. Certain medications, notably the thiazide group of "water pills", can sensitise the skin to both sunlight and lasers. If you had laser therapy, you might develop a rash. So why not ask your doc if you could come off the pills for a month or so?
