Independent education
Important parent partnerships
GREAT WALSTEAD
SCHOOL, Lindfield, is
looking forward to 2008
with every confidence.
450 girls and boys (aged
between two-and-a-half and
13 years) are returning for
the spring term ready to
enjoy the wide-ranging
facilities and marvellous
270-acre grounds.
The Term Ahead -
Partnership with Parents
The parent/school
partnership is a theme
for the forthcoming term.
Several events are planned
with this purpose in mind:
"Reading with your
children" a forum for
parents with children in
Years 2-8, an "internet
awareness" seminar for
parents of older children
and an evening discussing
getting the most out of the
top years at a prep school.
As the headmaster remarks:
"We are keen to involve
parents with their
children's learning in as
many ways as possible -
going well beyond the
traditional consultation
evenings, though, of course,
we have those as well.
"When parents and the
school work together
to promote children's
development then we can
bring out the full potential
in our youngsters, which
is what Great Walstead
is all about."
