TWO brothers who were reunited after 36 years apart said they "just never got round to seeing each other".
Brian and Gordon Whitelock were brought up in Seer Green, but were parted 36 years ago when Brian moved to Australia to start a new life.
The brothers simply never got around to visiting each other in all this time, although they kept in constant contact via the telephone.
Gordon, 60, lives in Highlands Road, in Seer Green, with his wife Penny, and has two daughters aged 35 and 34.
He said: "It was unbelievable when I saw him it was so emotional.
"We will see each other more regularly from now on. I wish that we had done it before."
Brian said it had been great to see Gordon again, and he arrived in Britain with his 25-year-old daughter.
He added: "I don't know why we didn't do it earlier. I just never thought of coming across.
"He's got more hair than when I last saw him."
Brian, 58, left the UK when he was 22, and claims the life in Perth, where he lives in Australia, is more laid-back.
He added: "When I got back to England I just didn't recognise the place."
The brothers have now vowed to see each other more often, and Gordon is already planning a trip to Perth in two years' time.
