This is how shops used to be before the advent of supermarkets and chain stores.
Haydn Williams, who sent in the picture says the shop belonged to his dad. It was in Rottingdean just near the junction between the high street and Marine Drive.
The shop, EJ Williams, sold and did everything to do with electric goods and photography. Parked proudly outside is the firm’s van. There would be no room to park it today.
The shop was part of a parade. Next door was Midget Stores.
Mr Williams thinks the picture was taken about 70 years ago.
