My mother, Dorothy Grace Thorne, had a brother called Bertie William Thorne.
He was born in Ambala, in India, in 1905.
He married twice, firstly to Ivy J Scutt in 1933 in Horsham. I don’t know if they had any children.
She passed away and he later remarried to Maria Johnson, in June, 1945. He was in the RAF beforehand.
They lived at 45 Norfolk Road, Brighton.
He died in September 1956 at 28 Wilbury Villas, Hove.
I would be keen to get in touch with any relatives of Bertie or either of his two wives.
