Thousands of people in Hove watched a memorial procession to mark the death of King Edward VII in 1910.
They marched from the town hall, which had been draped in mourning colours, to the parish church of All Saints in The Drive.
So many people were left outside the church that a second, open-air, service had to be staged shortly afterwards.
Among those taking part in the parade were councillors, the police, firefighters, postmen and coastguards, all dressed solemnly. The King had been a frequent visitor to Hove and was known to many people in the parade.
