Free Wills Month brings together ten charities to offer people aged 55 and over the opportunity to have their Will written free of charge by a local solicitor. The campaign encourages couples and individuals to contact a participating law firm and is aimed at encouraging members of the public to settle their affairs and to consider leaving a charitable gift alongside gifts left for family and friends. The charities behind Free Wills Month are Action for Children, Age Concern, British Heart Foundation, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, CAFOD, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, RNID, the RNLI, The Stroke Association and WWF-UK. Those interested must book an appointment through a participating firm by the end of October although the actual appointment can be held at a later date. The contact details for all firms involved, further information on the scheme and the work undertaken by the charities can be found at www.freewillsmonth.org.uk or by ringing 0845 020 4309.
