Police sealed off a city street amid fears of a fire in a block of flats only for it to turn out to be burnt cooking.
Emergency services were called to Livingstone House in Clarendon Road, Hove, at 10.30pm yesterday after reports of smoke coming from one of the apartments.
When firefighters arrived they quickly discovered the call was a false alarm and spoke to the residents whose kitchen had caused the problem.

They have been complaining about not being able to clean their kitchens and so buying expensive take-aways which make their offspring obese. They have complained about blocked rubbish-chutes because they are too lazy to take out the rubbish themselves. They keep causing problems with their bathrooms and so washing themselves on the balcony - and now their dodgy cooking has the neighbourhood cordoned off!
the place is a health hazard. What next for Clarendon?
