Three girls rescued after dinghy floats out to sea

Three girls were rescued after their inflatable dinghy floated out to sea.

Two others who attempted to swim out and help the youngsters were also picked up by Brighton Lifeboat crews.

The dramatic rescue happened today at just after 4 at Rottingdean.

The girls were "shaken" but otherwise unharmed.

A lifeboat spokesman warned of the dangers of prevailing winds and strong currents.
