Tens of thousands of internet users will have links disconnected when Facebook shuts down its Brighton and Hove network.
The website has begun displaying a message warning users the network will be discontinued, along with others across the UK.
The Brighton and Hove group, which allows people from the area to advertise events, share news and meet new people, currently has 182,756 members.
Users' individual profiles will be unaffected by the change. Facebook said people could now use groups to connect with people around them instead of the regional networks.
