Forensic teams were tonight continuing to examine a woman's body found in woodland to try to find out what killed her.

The detectives investigating the disappearance of Diane Chenery-Wickens were examining the remains to see if they are those of the missing BBC make-up artist.

And Mrs Chenery-Wickens' estranged husband was continuing to be questioned on suspicion of her murder despite officers being unable as yet to confirm that the 48-year-old is the body in the woods.

The remains were discovered in undergrowth next to a quiet lane in Little Horsted, near Uckfield, on Thursday morning by a dog walker.

Today extra police search teams were sent to the site to scour the area 50m around the remains to collect extra evidence.

A group of officers with dogs searched the trees and undergrowth near the body while police divers examined a murky pond to look for a murder weapon.

The badly decomposed body was not removed but instead forensic officers worked around it to try to collect evidence that could identify her killer.

come on Argus, you had TWO pieces on here earlier saying that Sussex Police had identified the body by dental records and the BBC are also running the story.

At least now the lady's family can stop the horrific 'what, where, when questions. Although 'how' and 'why' will probably never be known.
