Husband charged with murder

The husband of a woman whose body was found in woodland this week has been charged with her murder.

David Chenery-Wickens, 51, from Duddleswell, near Crowborough, will appear at Hastings Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning accused of murdering his wife, Diane.

Mrs Chenery-Wickens' body was found by a dog-walker at Little Horsted, near Uckfield, on Thursday.

The 48-year-old had been missing since January 24.

The body was formally identified as hers at a post-mortem examination just after 6pm today.

Her family were informed before the news was made public.

Sussex Police arrested Mr Chenery-Wickens after the body was discovered on Thursday and charged him at 10.55pm tonight.
