Matt Richards and Albion's other loan recruits could have a future at the club under Micky Adams.

Ipswich leftback Richards, Charlton's French midfielder Therry Racon and Leeds midfielder Ian Westlake were all borrowed by the Seagulls this season when Dean Wilkins was manager.

Adams spent hours last week studying DVDs of Albion matches and he is keeping an open mind about the trio now that he is back in charge.

He said: "All three are good players and I have seen enough of them to realise they would be decent acquisitions to the squad.

"Don't rule anything out and don't rule anything in but certainly I will be speaking to the Board about them. The thing is they are other people's players, so it's not really what I want but what they want and their clubs want."

Richards and former Albion leftback Dan Harding are among five players transfer-listed by Ipswich.

Both have a year left on their contracts at Portman Road and Ipswich boss Jim Magilton said: "We will listen to offers and see what that brings."

Adams is warning League One will be tougher for Albion to get out of next season. He believes there are more clubs with financial power operating in the third tier of English football than when he left the Seagulls for Leicester seven years ago.

Adams said: "There are bigger and better teams in the league now with wealthy benefactors. That wasn't the case then. People didn't really seem to want to buy clubs at that lower end.

"Now there are people like Pete Winkelman at MK Dons, Darragh MacAnthony at Peterborough, Ken Bates at Leeds, and Milan Mandaric at Leicester.

"There is a bit of money floating around in this League and a lot of teams will be desperate to get out of it next season and back into the Championship. I think it will be tougher league next season with the quality of the teams coming down and those coming up, especially MK and Peterborough."

Please please please stop the Micky Adams quotes and wait for some real news to happen. yes it may be tough next year but it sounds like he is already making excuses for failing next season. I am sure that is not the case and I just want to see some activity in the transfer market

Totally agree Jules. Naylor simply filling pages with NO NEWS!!
When BHAFC get a new player in, then report it. It makes it so much more interesting for the reader.

But Naylor is on piece rates. However will he feed his wife and 6 kids?

Yes, this is a non-story. But so is the majority of football 'reporting'. Naylor is just doing his job. And given that even Albion non-stories are amongst the 10 most read things on the Argus website, his editor is not going to ask him to writing up Mickey Adams quotes.

This 'Anti-Naylor' rubbish is getting really boring.

I always get the feeling that Andy Naylor would rather be reporting for the Stoke Gazette or whatever their paper is. H is a professional journalist but I feel his lack of passion for this club is palpable. John Vinicombe his predessesor was a walking encyclopaedia on our club and his passion shone through.I have no axe to grind with mr. Naylor I just think somebody could do a better job

I for one am actually quite interested in what Mickey Adams has to say, it\'s good to know we have a manager with a goals in mind, and I bet once the season kicks off you won\'t any of the DWesque quotes such as \"we can take some positives from that\" after we lose. As for the \"making excuses for failing\" b0ll0x, what are you people on???? We are a potless club in Div1, we punch well above our weight and do it really well IMO. We don\'t have big names and no money to bring big names in, to be where we are is pretty **** good going if you ask me
Agreed - Some people need to take a reality check !

I think Naylor should have ruled this story out the moment micky said "Don't rule anything out and don't rule anything in".

I'm with McKenzie.

Just because Naylor isn't a fan doesn't mean he shouldn't be covering the Albion. In fact, it gives him an advantage - he's not biased.

Otherwise all his articles would go 'wooo-errr go on Albionnnn!' like you lot every week.

It's not like B&H are going to play Stoke in the near future, is it?

The Argus could fire Naylor!!

All this anti-Naylor stuff is bordering on the fanatical. If you think these minor stories are too small, DON'T READ THEM!!!!

oh my god, as i predicted about a month ago hinshlewood was in the states seeing a surgeon, this after the best surgeon ( chelsea) told him the scarring on his knee will never hold. this was known before wilkins continued to give him money,, everyone knows he wont play again.. question!! if his name was not hinshlewood, would he still be here?

Nice one Mark.Note we can't coment on this storey. This peace of scum should be out the club. The club was told about this knee years ago. Please also note it has always been the same knee going, his words. Not both like some people would have fans believe. The real fans should turn against this money for nothing scum now,and get that family out this footall club.

Seagull John, Hove says...

Oh dear. We can't comment on the Hinshelwood article direct so we've been forced on to the next thread. Hardly fair to refer to him as a piece of scum but the cynics, including me, will actually say a fourth operation on the same knee proves them right. As for for being a BHA Darren Anderton, at least Anderton managed a few games every now and then.
P.S. Is the reason why comments appear two or three times in succession sometimes, because The Argus website disconnects other peoples Broadband like it does mine when I lodge a comment, refresh or change page?

Dan, worthing says...

Yes it is odd we can't coment on the hinshelwood story.Never wrong dave is right yet again.Hinshelwood is scum. Please DK get that family out the club.Maybe the Argus should be doing a storey on the hold that family have over the club.

Oh and just in case the moronic on here don't quite understand-if the club release him NOW all of the money invested in him will be down the crapper because they'll get FLICK ALL from the insurance company PLUS they'll have to pay up any of his contract that might be outstanding.
