A Brighton pop-up shop received a visit from a Hollywood star. Tenacious D and School of Rock star Jack Black visited youngsters working at a new pop-up shop which is set to open in Brighton.
The new Make-Away store, which is being created as part of a new project organised by the Retail Trust and Retail Ready People, will allow customers to print their own T-shirts and buy hand-made artwork by local artists.
The city has been chosen as one of the first new sites for the nationwide project which has seen a team of 12 young volunteers taking part in a free training programme to develop skills in areas like design, marketing, communication and display.
The shop is set to open in Brighton Square next to the former Rounder Records store on November 3.
Empty shops pioneer Dan Thompson said: “One of our staff spotted him in town and collared him. He gave us the thumbs up.
“It’s great to have that level of celebrity endorsement, it really fires them up. We have a great space in Brighton Square and we’ve got a really great mix of students and young parents.”
