Brighton marathon challenge for Martlets Hospice
5:29pm Thursday 25th October 2012 in News
A hospice is urging people to take on the challenge of the 2013 Brighton Marathon on its behalf.
The Martlets Hospice in Hove has 20 places left for April’s race, which will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
The hospice is aiming to raise £90,000, which will go directly towards funding three nursing posts.
The Martlets is not part of the NHS and relies on the support of the community to keep its services going.
Fundraising director Robert Griffiths said: “We pride ourselves on creating a real team spirit for all our runners. We support them all the way with training advice, expert fundraising tips and a Martlets running vest or T-shirt.
“There are also meeters and greeters at the start and finish, plus our dedicated cheerers out on the course.
“In running for the hospice, people are making a fantastic commitment to us and in return we promise to make their marathon experience truly memorable.”
