A 13-year-old boy who kicked a bottle along the ground was assaulted by an older man he annoyed, police say.

Now police have released an image of a man they want to talk to in connection with the incident in Montague Street, Worthing, on October 13 at 1.15pm.

Police said the boy “became scared” and ran into The Brighthouse shop where he hid behind the counter. The man then grabbed him, took him outside and assaulted him but he was not injured.

Witnesses should call Sussex Police on 101.

Perhaps if he'd put it in the bin there wouldn't have been a problem.

Perhaps if the person that put it on the ground put it in the bin then he wouldn't have kicked it.Prevention rather than the cure.Cigarette butts chewing gum drink bottles maybe littering needs to be enforced properly.

Yes, a toe rag, who, after kicking the bottle TOWARDS him and then mouthing off and flicking the V,s then legged it into the shop and the 'assault' was actually a short sharp shaking and intense and loud warning...the sort of thing most commentators on here miss from the friendly local Bobby. More power to him and I shall not give him up....
