Pedestrian killed while crossing A27 at Crossbush

A pedestrian was killed while attempting to cross the busiest road in the county late at night.

Sussex Police are investigating after a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a blue Rover 75 while crossing the westbound carriage of the A27 at Crossbush near Arundel at about 1.30am this morning.
 

The victim was a 52-year-old man from East Grinstead.

A 24-year-old man from Bognor who was driving the Rover 75 was treated for shock following the incident.
 

The westbound carriage was closed for about four hours while police officers investigated the scene.
 

Anyone with any information on the incident should contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Parham.

From my experience,whilst it may be the busiest road in the county, at 1.30 am there is pretty much jack-all on the road. RIP the victim, but one helluva shock for the driver.
