Man airlifted to hospital after Southwater crash

A man has suffered serious injuries after his car crashed into a tree.
 

Firefighters had to cut the man from his car after it collided into a tree on the A24 Horsham Road at Southwater at about 1.45pm this afternoon.
 

Sussex Police closed the road for more than three hours in both directions to allow an air ambulance to land and take the victim to hospital.
 

It is believed the driver of a Toyota hatchback suffered head and arm injuries in the crash but remained conscious throughout the rescue by firefighters.
 

The incident which was attended by fire crews from Horsham and Crawley.

cars do not crash into trees. Drivers do.

Car drivers are the worst on the road. I have no sympathy for those who crash due to their bad driving. It makes the roads safer for the rest of us.

That's a bit harsh! Where does it state that he crashed due to bad driving? I hope he is ok!

I have used the A24 twice a day, 5 times a week for 20 years and have never seen any tree on it. I hope he or she is prosecuted.
