Portslade partygoer almost burns down kitchen after falling asleep while cooking dinner

A partygoer returning from a big night-out fell asleep and nearly burnt down her kitchen.

The woman in her 20s fell asleep while cooking herself a Sunday lunch at about 3pm in Pickford Court in Crest Way, Portslade.

Neighbours raised the alarm and firefighters from Hove extinguished the fire which had filled the flat with dangerous smoke.

I don't think she got IN at 3pm, but assume she had been in for na few hours and it was at 3pm she cooked the meal. Hope East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service send her the bill for their call out.

Why?

There was a fire.

The Fire Brigade came and put it out. Job well done as ever.

Folks, a chip-pan fire is a serious business. At least no-one was hurt.

She was using a chip pan to cook her Sunday Roast after a party at three in the afternoon?

Why did the headline not say
"Woman under the influence of drink and/or drugs after wild debauched evening nearly dies whilst deep frying chicken after returning from party at 3pm"

It would have made as much sense as the one they printed.
