Hastings man injured in hit and run

A driver struck a pedestrian and sped off without stopping.

The hit and run happened in Whatlington, near Battle, on Sunday evening.

A 29-year-old man from Hastings was walking along the A21 near the fireplace shop when he was struck by the southbound vehicle at around 7.50pm.

He was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings for treatment for minor injuries and released later that evening.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the pedestrian in the area around the time to call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1380 of 28/10.

As a driver one of my nightmares is that I hit someone with my car. The only other thing that scares me even more is driving off after hitting someone.

Do the decent thing and give yourself up!
