Man stabbed in chest after revellers clash in University of Sussex car park

A man was stabbed with a weapon in a university car park after two gangs of revellers clashed.
A 21-year old man from Ramsgate was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital after receiving a cut to his chest following a fight in a car park in Park Village Road at the University of Sussex in Falmer.
A 20-year old man from North London has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and an 18-year old man from Winchester has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.
As The Argus went to press, both men remained in police custody for questioning.
The incident took place after two different groups of men clashed after travelling on the N25 bus travelling from Brighton centre at 5am this morning.
One group got off the bus two stops earlier by clashed with the other at the bus stop in Park Village Road.
Sussex Police said the two groups were a mixture of students and friends and that the injured man was not a student at the university.
Detective Sergeant Julie Greenwood said: "We know there were other passengers on the bus during its journey and we would like to speak to them all.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone else who saw anything of what happened.”

Crime is crime and residents should be supported when reporting crime no matter who is committing it.
I will be watching this case, to see if charges are brought, because you can bet if these lads were local/non-students they would be processed through the magistrates' court pretty swiftly.
