Three workers freed by fire brigade from locked block of flats

Three early risers had to call the fire brigade after they were locked inside their block of flats.

Firefighters were called to Mcnair Court in Portland Road at around 6 this morning to find the three stuck behind the front door and unable to get to work.

One firefighter said: “They all seemed pretty cheesed off.”

Luckily the crew were able to enter a code and let the relieved workers on their way.

Thanks to the fire brigade they got to work. I cannot imagine anything scarier then not being able to exit a block of flats due to a lock or lift malfunction.

I trust the owner of the flats or leaseholder is held accountable for this as it could have been fatal if there had been a fire?
